ABOUT

Shoulder Treatment

Manual Osteopathy

Manual Osteopaths use a combination of techniques including Joint Mobilization, Soft Tissue Therapy, Muscle Energy Technique, Cranial Osteopathy, Visceral Manipulation and Somatic Release. Patients wear loose comfortable clothing that does not restrict their movement. Most treatments are done with the patient lying down on their back, side or front, but some techniques work best with the patient seated. This depends on the individual condition and on what is most comfortable for the patient.

What to expect at your first appointment

At Motion Osteopathy we begin by discussing the history of your condition and your treatment goals. We consider the specifics of your issue as well as your daily habits, your likes and dislikes, your health goals and challenges. We then perform a physical assessment to identify any contributing factors. With this information we will work with you to build a treatment plan along with a specially tailored movement and exercise practice to help you feel less pain and more energy.

Your Treatments

Treatments can be as varied as our clients. Some people respond better to soft tissue work and craniosacral treatments while others find osteopathic joint manipulation and exercises leaves them feeling the best. Depending upon your individual interest and comfort, we will determine the optimal plan to get you feeling better fast.
